I'm going to the Arc of Illinois Convention in Bloomington and I will need your help to cover the hotel costs for two nights on April 21 and 22. Your donation will help reach the total cost.
I'm on a fixed income living off Supplement Security Income (SSI) earning less than $1,000 a month. As a person with a disability I'm in poverty. People with disabilities are the poorest of the poor receiving $840 to $960 a month from Social Security SSI Benefits. That is why people with disabilities can't afford to pay for the astronomical amount for a hotel room, even for one night because of most important expenses we have to pay such as rent, food, bills and medical prescriptions as well as transportation.
I'm going to the Arc of Illinois Convention for Disability Advocacy workshops to promote the change people with disabilities and to fight to get us out of poverty.
