Hi everyone ❤️

I wanted to take a moment to give an honest update on where things currently stand.

As many of you know, last year I began the journey of trying to adopt my three beautiful girls here in Tanzania, East Africa. Since then, I’ve worked hard to take every step possible, obtaining my permit (which I received in March 2026), preparing for the legal process, and working toward having the support I would need through adoption lawyers in both Tanzania and the U.S., as well as a U.S. immigration lawyer who specializes in adoption.

This journey has meant everything to me.

However, behind the scenes, there have been many unexpected roadblocks. Recently, after meeting with social welfare, I was told that adoption is not be possible and that approval most likely will not be given in the future. To say this has been heartbreaking would be an understatement.

Because this situation involves many sensitive details, and I'm still choosing to stay , I can only share limited information publicly at this time. . I also want to be transparent that I am still seeking legal guidance and double checking everything with a lawyer before making any final conclusions.

But as of today, this is where things currently stand.

What has *not* changed is my commitment to these girls. I still plan to remain in Tanzania for the next couple of years, continue showing up for them, and support their education, goals, and future however I can. Adoption may look different than I originally hoped, but my love and dedication to them has never changed.

For those who have supported me, prayed for us, encouraged us, or simply followed this journey, thank you. Truly. Your support means more than you know.

As we navigate what this next chapter looks like, there are still ways to help support the girls’ future, including education, daily needs, goals, and transportation (we are currently working toward getting a reliable car as well). If you feel led to support, you can still donate here

We may be facing a different path than expected, but we are still moving forward, with hope, love, and determination.

With all my heart,
E’Layjiah
