Hi everyone,
We’ve had the privilege of working with Mr. Marco Salin through the Center for Race, Inequality, and the Law at NYU School of Law, and we're thrilled to share that after 22 years incarcerated, he will be released on December 29th!
Mr. Salin is an incredible person. From our very first conversation with him, it was clear how deeply he cares about learning, growth, and the people around him. Throughout his incarceration, he completed every educational program available to him. His commitment to self-improvement and preparation for life after prison is unlike anything we have ever seen from a client. Beyond his dedication to learning, Mr. Salin is a remarkably empathetic and self-aware person. He is deeply attuned to the people around him and consistently shows compassion, even toward those who may not treat him with the same respect. His ability to understand his place in the world and respond with kindness is one of his most striking qualities.
Now that he is returning home, Mr. Salin is excited to begin a new chapter. He talks often about finding steady work — not just for financial stability, but because he wants to give back to the community he feels he has taken from. He is eager to cook meals, feed people, and use his skills to support those around him. Most of all, he looks forward to building a life rooted in hope, generosity, and meaningful contribution.
Like many people returning from prison, Mr. Salin will need support as he gets back on his feet. He does not have any family members to rely on and will need help securing basic necessities, transportation, clothing, and stability as he searches for work and rebuilds his life.. Any amount you can give — even $5 — will make a meaningful difference to provide Mr. Salin with stability as he begins this next chapter.
We’d be honored if you joined us in welcoming Mr. Salin home to start the New Year off with love and support by donating. Please also consider sharing this with friends and family to help us reach our goal.
