For those that may not know us, allow us to introduce ourselves.
Greg Cornelius: I have been an Executive Chef in fine dining establishments for over 25 years. Previously, I was an owner of a casual seafood restaurant. I’m excited to pursue my passion of baking artisan bread and innovative pizzas. More importantly I’m looking forward to giving people a chance to learn and grow.
Marsha Dickerson (soon to be Cornelius): I was born and raised in Dahlonega and I served near 10 years in the Army. I’ve worked in the nonprofit sector for the last 7 years and have recently transitioned to the culinary space. My degree is in business operations and I’m currently in Culinary School to become a Pastry Chef. I’m thrilled to be able to give back to our community by helping people.
Currently, we’re the proud owners of Roundabout Deli Dahlonega.
Our why?
Our inspiration stems from a deeply personal place. As parents of two autistic children, we had a pivotal conversation about supporting our children through their transition to adulthood, sparking the creation of Mosaic Bakery & Pizzeria. As we continued to navigate our journey, we chose to expand our focus to include the broader neurodivergent community. Our mission is to provide job opportunities and work training to neurodivergent individuals. Our restaurant will be a dine in and carry out Bakery & Pizzeria in the Dahlonega area. With your support and help, we will be able to make this dream come true!
Our why? (Part 2)
Research has shown that neurodivergent children typically receive adequate support and resources, yet this support seems to wane as they grow older. We have identified a need for increased support for individuals as they enter adulthood. Hence the reason we launched Mosaic Bakery & Pizzeria to empower neurodivergent adults to reach their full potential.
Our why? (Part 3) As we explored locations for Mosaic Bakery & Pizzeria, we identified a need for a full bakery in the Dahlonega area. And although Dahlonega has numerous pizza joints, our Roman-style pizzeria will differentiate itself through classic and innovative pie varieties.
With donations we will lay the ground work in order to establish a location and equip the restaurant.
We appreciate your support, donations and love!
Much love,
Marsha & Greg
