Help Us Paint the Future: Support Mosaic 1898’s Whetstone Hub Project!
About Mosaic 1898: Mosaic 1898 is a charity dedicated to transforming lives and communities. As part of our 125th anniversary, we embarked on an ambitious project to revitalise the Whetstone Hub (https://www.mosaic1898.co.uk/whetstone), a historic site consisting of three buildings: The Manse, The Community Centre, and The Chapel. These buildings will serve as vital community spaces, offering services and support to disabled individuals and the wider community.
Fundraiser by Centrica’s Diverse-Ability Network: Centrica’s Diverse-Ability Network is proud to support Mosaic 1898 in this important initiative. Our goal is to raise enough funds to cover the cost of paint and decorating supplies for the Whetstone Hub. This fundraiser is being shared by Centrica to maximise our reach and impact.
National Inclusionary Week: This fundraiser is part of our celebration of National Inclusionary Week, which highlights the importance of including disabled individuals within our communities. By contributing to our paint drive, you are helping us create spaces that are not only functional but also inviting and inclusive.
The Whetstone Hub:
The Manse (4 Bedroom House):
• A specialist disability respite care home providing families with peace of mind and high-quality, person-centred care.
• Guests can book up to 16 nights stay, ensuring a home away from home experience.
• The house is ready for painting and decorating to create a warm, homely environment.
The Community Centre:
• A labyrinth of community spaces including a sensory room, holistic therapy room, disabled facilities, and more.
• The building is nearly ready for painting after extensive mechanical and electrical work.
• This space will once again serve the local community, offering a variety of essential services.
The Chapel:
• A historic building with deep connections to our charity’s origins.
• Plans include light paint and decoration, installation of a kitchen, disabled toilets, and access ramps.
• The chapel will host collaborative projects with local authorities, health services, and voluntary organisations.
Why We Need Your Help: The Whetstone Hub is a beacon of hope and support for our community, especially for disabled individuals. By contributing to our paint drive, you are helping us create spaces that are not only functional but also inviting and inclusive.
How You Can Help:
• Donate: Every contribution, big or small, brings us closer to our goal.
• Share: Spread the word about our campaign on social media and within your networks.
• Get Involved: Join us in our mission to create a more inclusive community.
Thank You: Your support means the world to us and the many individuals who will benefit from the Whetstone Hub. Together, we can paint a brighter future for everyone.
