Support Morgan and Helene Thulin's Recovery
My name is Jeanette, and my brothers, Samuel, David, Jonathan and I are starting this GoFundMe page for our beautiful parents Morgan & Helene Thulin. Some of you know us as The Thulin Family. Please see full story below and a message from our youngest brother.
----------------------------------------------
Hi everyone,
So many people talk about their childhood, growing up in the same city, having the same friends, same teachers, etc. To be honest, I sometimes envied that. Growing up in a family like mine was something different entirely and I maybe didn’t realize how different until I started to get a bit older. My parents took us kids on so many adventures and gave us so many experiences as we traveled as the singing gospel group, The Thulin Family.
We got to see the world, be all together and spread a message of love to every place and church that we went to. It honestly feels like a dream now. Something that I know I experienced, but it feels like it was maybe in a different life.
My parents, who have now been married for 50 years, have dedicated their lives to serving the Lord and others. Every time someone has needed them, they have been there. One thing I remember from my childhood is their deep and endless love for me. Every hug, every kiss, every affirmation. They loved with their actions, not just their words. They taught all 4 of us kids how to love the world around us. How to put the needs of others at the forefront of our hearts.
Life moves on. We get older and the things of the past start to feel further and further away. But the memories and love still remain.
The reason I am telling this story is because after all my parents have done for others, I want to create this opportunity for others to do something for them.
My mom has been having some health issues the past few years. She has been to numerous doctors and specialists, had several surgeries, but no one has yet been able to figure out what's really going on. In 2021, she almost passed away with covid pneumonia. After being intubated for 8 days with a 50/50 chance of survival, she did survive and we believe God saved her for a purpose. But after a year or so of being home from the hospital, the recovery got tougher, and just recently, she has lost her ability to walk. It has led my dad to have to stop everything and take care of her around the clock. He is an incredible husband and will not leave her side.
They have an amazing house, but are on the brink of losing it, because after years of full-time ministry, their retirement is not quite enough and dad is no longer able to work to supplement their income.
All we want as kids is for them to be able to breathe and focus on mom getting better.
We are setting this at $10,000, which will give them some breathing room to focus on mom’s full recovery and her learning how to walk again. But I feel like there are so many of you out there who want to give to beautiful humans like them, so let’s go way beyond $10,000. Everything you give will go directly towards their immediate living expenses.
Sometimes when you have given your entire lives to others, it can feel lonely and isolating in times like this. Let’s show these beautiful, life-giving humans that they are not alone. They are valuable, worthy and seen.
If you stumble across this page and you don’t know them, let me just say that you will be giving to the most deserving human beings. I have so much hope that this will give them the financial breathing room and security they need to move towards total recovery and getting back to doing what they love, ministering full-time!
If you are unable to pay on this page, contact us and we will give you other ways. If you're not able to give financially, we welcome your prayers, and please share this with anyone you feel led to share it with.
God bless you all and thank you in advance for showing my parents so much love.
