Hi everyone -- my name is Rachel Raven-Chabin, and I live in Baltimore, MD. I've started this GoFundMe to help my spouse Mordi's family. (We are barely able to pay our own bills at this time, and so we're unfortunately not in the position to help with their expenses on our own.) Multiple members of the family struggle with chronich health conditions and are unable to work because of it. While they receive a small amount of aid from local community organizations, they rely on SNAP to cover the vast majority of their expenses for groceries and household items. With the impending freeze on SNAP benefits due to the government shutdown, we don't know how they will manage to get by. Money is already extremely tight, and losing those benefits, even temporarily, will put a huge strain on their finances.
