Dear Friends, Family, and Supporters,
We are reaching out to you during a time of great need for the Montreat College baseball program. Recently, Hurricane Helene struck our community, leaving a trail of destruction that has deeply impacted our players, coaches, and facilities. The storm caused significant damage to our field, equipment, and the resources we rely on to train and compete.
Our team is more than just a group of athletes; we are a family dedicated to hard work, perseverance, and the spirit of sportsmanship. We believe in lifting each other up, and now we need your support to help us rebuild and recover.
These kids have worked tirelessly, fundraising and dedicating their time to create a better experience for themselves and our team. They deserve every opportunity to continue pursuing their passion for baseball, academics, faith, and various other key aspects of their lives and right now, they need your support.
I have never asked for help in my entire 29 years of coaching BUT in this instance the need for help is inevitable. I’m reaching out to everyone I know—former alumni of Montreat, players from Southeastern University and Nyack College, and my connections within Major League Baseball. I’m pleading with you to help us rebuild and support us during this time of need. We would not be where we are today without the support of all of these mentioned but in this time we challenge you to step up to the plate!
The prayers, calls, and messages from everyone worldwide have been truly amazing. I find myself overwhelmed with emotion when I think of all who have reached out. I cannot thank you enough. We love you all, and I promise you that we will come back stronger than ever!
With heartfelt gratitude,
The Montreat Baseball Team
