This GoFundMe is for students at Montgomery Blair High School (Silver Spring MD) affected by immigration enforcement.
At the moment, we are raising money for:
- a student in detention who has chosen to self-deport because his parents were also deported a few months ago.
- a Blair and Rolling Terrace family whose father is in detention and being threatened with deportation to Mexico even though he is from Guatemala.
- ongoing legal fees for the Blair father we raised money to get released from detention this summer as his case moves through the system
- two additional Blair families who have had a parent detained in the last few days.
We will continue to raise money for other needs as they arise. Many Blair families are being torn apart by unjust and unnecessary immigration detention. Legal fees for one case are often tens of thousands of dollars. Thank you for supporting us in being Blair Unida!
