Montecito Heights neighbors share the foot path at the end of Montecito Drive and are coming together to share maintenance of the path too!
Costs we need to cover to maintain the path include:
- Gravel Install ($2,000 lasts 4-5 years)
- Weed removal ($500 2 x year)
Why does the path need maintenance?
Every winter the rains wash out the path and make it difficult to traverse. During the last big storms local neighbors created a swale for the water to funnel so we could keep the path intact for walkers and cyclists traveling through the neighborhood into and out of Debs Park. The swale needed to be filled with gravel (large chunks so it won't get washed out by the storm water) so it wouldn't erode. A friendly local contractor volunteered to fill the swale with gravel and spread it with his crew one early morning in March. We would like to repay him for the out-of-pocket costs he provided so our path could be functional for the next 4-5 years.
Every spring the weeds encroach on our narrow path and make it hard to traverse especially with dogs, kids, or a bike. We have been hiring a local gardener to weed whack as needed and would like to cover these costs.
Thank you for supporting!
If you are a frequent user of this path, here is your chance to contribute to the collective effort of maintaining it together!
Every small amount helps! If 100 people can contribute just $25 we're golden!
