Hello, Kind Souls,
My name is Jihan, and I am humbly reaching out to you on behalf of my dear friend, Mohamed Gharib, and his family from Gaza, whose lives have been shattered by relentless Israeli aggression that has left them with nothing but unimaginable pain and loss.
Mohamed is a loving husband and father, prestigious journalist and a pillar in his community, whose steadfastness and service to others has inspired many.

Throughout the war, he worked tirelessly in reporting the truth as a journalist while helping provide essential resources like water, flour, and other life-saving necessities to those around him.
Even as he faced personal loss and danger, Mohamed prioritized the well-being of his family and neighbors, becoming a pillar of hope.
His faith in God has been his guiding light. Despite the overwhelming hardships, Mohamed remains steadfast in his trust in Gods mercy and justice, embodying patience and perseverance in the face of adversity.
Mohamed’s Story:
”I am Mohamed Ghazi Kamel Al-Gharib, 43 years old, living in Rafah City since birth. I have been married since 2007. God has blessed me with four children:
• Malak, 14 years old
• Hassan, 12 years old
• Nora, 8 years old
• Kareem, 4 years old
I have been working in journalism since 2010.
I started writing news reports for a news website, then began photographing in football, basketball, and volleyball stadiums. Later, I became a radio correspondent covering football stadiums. Eventually, I became the head of the sports and social media departments at Youth Radio in Gaza City. During the war, I served as a field reporter on the streets of Rafah and Khan Younis, covering news and events for Al-Kufiya TV.
I used to live in a small room with my family. Then, in 2012, I built a 150-square-meter apartment. I had to take out a bank loan to complete the construction, which I finished in three months. I spent the next eight years repaying the loan, along with debts for furniture, kitchen appliances, electrical devices, and plumbing materials. Those were the hardest days of my life because I couldn’t cover household expenses as my entire salary went toward debt repayment.
I finally cleared all the debts in 2020, the year COVID-19 emerged. My salary was negatively impacted by the pandemic.
After the pandemic ended, the devastating war on Gaza began. We endured difficult days filled with bombings, death, destruction, and fear. Homes and schools were destroyed, and children couldn’t attend school for over 470 days. The war deprived them of their right to education, healthcare, nutritious food, and even the most basic rights of childhood.
On May 7, 2024, we received an evacuation warning from the occupation army. They fired tank shells at us, forcing us to flee Rafah under bombardment. We reached Khan Younis, where we lived in a tent under dire and inhumane conditions. We endured the scorching summer heat, the bitter cold of winter, and daily rain.
On January 19, 2024, a ceasefire was announced. We returned to my home in Rafah and found massive destruction to the three-story building. Tank shells had penetrated the apartment, destroying furniture, appliances, children’s clothing, the main water tank, the electrical system, and plumbing. The house is now uninhabitable, with tanks stationed nearby and daily gunfire putting our lives at risk.
Now, we continue living in tents, enduring continuous suffering and hardship.
This is the story of the home I built with immense effort, only to have it taken away by the Israeli occupation.

All I ask is for help rebuilding this home to provide a safe place for my children. I want to buy each child their own bed—something the occupation deprived them of after destroying the room they’ve lived in since birth. The tent has become their never-ending nightmare.”

A Message of Faith and Hope:
