Support Mitzi in Her Second Cancer Battle

Hi, my name is Patty, and my sister, Mitzi Spallas, was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, putting her in a very precarious financial condition. My brother, Greg Spallas, as well as myself and the rest of our loving family are sending out an urgent call for help to family and friends and to everyone who knows and adores Mitzi.

As many may know, she’s been working for decades styling hair and makeup in the music industry in Los Angeles and on national and worldwide tours. The Covid pandemic shut down the entertainment world for quite awhile, and for most of the past two years she was without work, resulting in a severe loss of income. Also, Mitzi will be unable to work again for a long time following grueling treatments. The medical copays for her intensive surgery on April 20, bills for multiple hospital stays followed by the cost of targeted chemo and possible radiation in coming months will be overwhelming. Her artist husband, Robert Steven Connett, will be hard-pressed to find time to work once Mitzi is home from the hospital. They’ll need help with soaring monthly bills that will only increase when home healthcare visits, specialized diets and other therapies are added in.

Our warrior sister Mitzi beat her BRCA1 cancer in 2008. We thought it was clear sailing until a few weeks ago when we heard the news, and the bottom dropped out of our world. Now she has an even bigger, second battle ahead. Mitzi, with a heart of gold, has spent her lifetime raising money and providing support for other people and causes. Whether it’s those suffering from war, a single mother fighting to feed and house her children during the pandemic or her life-long mission of saving and protecting animals, Mitzi has never hesitated to help. Now, we’re hoping that others will help her with the long struggle ahead.
