Mitch, "The Ice Cream Man," Needs Support

“Lord, I was born a ramblin’ man
Tryin’ to make a livin’ and doin’ the best I can
And when it’s time for leavin’
I hope you’ll understand
That I was born a ramblin’ man”
The Allman Brothers Band
As many of you know, our brother Mitch, “The Ice Cream Man,” has spent the majority of his life
rambling and scrambling to spend summers here in the home of his youth-Charlestown and the
cold winters in his favorite St. Pete beach spot. For many years he successfully navigated this
lifestyle by running his Ice Cream truck all summer selling cold “waddah”, popsicles and
entertaining stories to tourists walking the Freedom Trail. Then he’d pack up his most recently
purchased heap of a car and head south to live off the fruits of his labor until the following
spring.
He never needed much and he lived the carefree life of a snowbird for a long time.
Unfortunately, this has been a really rough year for “The Ice Cream Man.” Serious health issues
forced him to cut his summer short and head back to Florida early so he could receive treatment
where he has medical coverage.
Then yesterday, Hurricane Helene poured four feet of water into his home, leaving him without a
place to live or any of his belongings. While we are hopeful that some relief will come his way,
he is going to be in line with a lot of other folks in the same position.
Would you be able to give a few dollars to help Mitch out until he can get back on his feet?
