Support Mission Rabies Volunteers: Help Save Lives

This September, I will have the awesome privilege of volunteering with Worldwide Veterinary Services: Mission Rabies in Tanzania!

WVS organizes global veterinary campaigns, enlisting the help of volunteers from around the world. The focus of Mission Rabies is to provide lifesaving protection for both the dogs and human communities by achieving 70% vaccination coverage amongst the canine population in countries with heavy rabies burden, subsequently developing herd immunity and reducing the spread of the virus. Volunteers administer the rabies vaccinations, maintain vax records, educate the human population about the virus, and administer emergency care to critical patients.

Besides the absolute necessity of these efforts, this is an incredible, life-changing experience for veterinary professionals! WVS works to keep these trips financially accessible for volunteers, but they do rely on trip payments and donations to fund their awesome work.
