Keep Mission Lotería Alive: Support Our 2025 Campaign
Hi, my name is Luis Quiroz, and I started Mission Lotería back in 2019 with one goal in mind: to bring foot traffic and joy to the Mission District by celebrating our culture, uplifting our small businesses, and creating a one-of-a-kind, interactive Shop Local experience.
Six years later, Mission Lotería has grown into a beloved campaign rooted in community, filled with vibrant events, pop-ups, art, prizes, and real-life Lotería cards that lead players from business to business in the heart of the Mission. If you’ve ever played with us, attended an event, won a prize, taken home a free sticker, or simply felt the magic of seeing the Mission celebrated in full color—you’re part of our story.
But now, we need your help.
Why We’re Fundraising
Due to shifting city priorities and a deep budget deficit, our funding from the City of San Francisco has been dramatically cut this year. That means the future of Mission Lotería is uncertain.
We’ve never charged for participation in our campaign before. We’ve done everything we can to keep it free, accessible, and joyful for everyone. But this year, things will look different unless we can mobilize support from our community—you.
What Your Donation Supports
Your contribution will go directly toward:
- Paying local artists and creatives who bring the campaign to life
- Printing Lotería cards, posters, and promotional materials
- Hosting our annual Real-Life Lotería activation with participating small businesses
- Covering event costs for game nights, pop-ups, and live performances
- Promoting our Shop Local campaign and driving traffic to neighborhood businesses
