Support Miss Julie's Relocation Journey

Throughout my career, I have had the precious opportunity to teach many students Music and Theatre at La Jolla Elementary, The Language Academy, West View Elementary, the JCC, National City Schools, and many other schools, campuses and organizations, including Young Audiences of San Diego and Arts Education Coordinates of San Diego.

I have grown to know and love so many of my students, their families and teachers over the years; however, rising rents, shrinking school budgets, and difficulties with obtaining facilities have made it impossible for me to afford to remain here in San Diego County, especially with the rising cost of living. 

A family member has graciously offered me a rental house in the San Francisco Bay Area for $500/month, and I must move up there by September. Due to the limited opportunities and funding for teaching positions in my field, I need your help to get there! I have been preparing over the summer to make this move, but I have unfortunately run out of funds to get there. 

My costs will be modest, as far as moving goes. I have had to get rid of many costumes and set pieces in order to fit into my new space. 

 Here is an estimated breakdown of my moving expenses: 

 • Moving Truck Rental: $1750 

 • Costume Trailer (Towed): $375 

 • Gas for Travel while Towing: $400 

 • Storage Rental for Costumes (1 month) $400 

 There will probably be many other costs that I haven’t addressed, but just getting up there to begin all over again is the toughest part. If you are able to donate, any contribution will help support me in this huge transition!
