Dear Friends & Family,
I am reaching out to you with a request for support as I embark on a journey that is deeply personal and meaningful to me. As a first-generation Vietnamese American and the first nurse in my family, it has always been my dream to return to Vietnam to give back to those who are unable to afford medical care. My parents fled the country after the Vietnam War to build a better life for our family in the United States, and my parent's courage & determination has always inspired me to give back to others, especially to those within our home country.
This April, I have the incredible opportunity to do just that. I will be traveling with Operation Walk Chicago, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing free hip and knee replacements to individuals in need.
Our mission is simple yet life-changing: to help people walk again. Many in Vietnam suffer from debilitating joint conditions that severely limit their mobility and quality of life. By performing these surgeries, we aim to restore not just their ability to walk, but also their independence and dignity!
To make this mission possible, I am seeking your generous support to help cover the costs of travel, lodging, scrubs, and food during my time in Vietnam. Your donation, no matter the size, will directly impact the lives of those we serve. Together, we can bring mobility, hope, and a brighter future to many.
Thank you for considering my request and for being a part of this journey. Your kindness and generosity mean the world to me and to those we will help.
Xoxo,
Mimi Le
