Hey y'all, This is my Granddaughter ! I don't even have the words, so I copied and pasted her mommas words! Sweet Millie is way too young to need another heart, but here we are! I'm asking for prayers and any way anyone can help! They have a HUGE HUGE road to recovery and anything can help! #prayersformillie
‼️LONG POST AHEAD‼️
I haven't given many updates regarding Millie's situation lately because I didn't have full information yet and didn't want to say something that was incorrect. So, with that being said, I finally have the full information and am on here to clear up many questions I've been getting. Millie has not progressed at all regarding her heart. She is refusing to eat completely, not gaining any weight, and she still has been vomiting quite a bit. Today, the doctors came in to officially inform me that she will be getting placed on the list for a heart transplant. They don't have any devices or any ways to fix her heart, and her heart is failing her body. She is being placed back in the CICU as of today and will be starting again on a medication to help her tolerate her feeds. She will also have to have two full-time caregivers when she is able to go home, which might be within a couple of weeks, maybe earlier. The reasons why she will be needing caregivers is because she will be going home on her feeding tube, and they will be leaving her PICC line in long term for the medications she will be needing to help her heart function. Though the medications only help her heart function 2% more than it does regularly, that 2% has helped her at least tolerate her food a bit more than usual. I am not certain on who will be her secondary caregiver yet, but I will be her primary one. This is not at all the news we were hoping for, and now it is a waiting game for a new heart for my baby. It's heartbreaking because though we will be praying for a new heart, another baby would have to lose theirs for mine to live longer. That being said, I'm just asking for prayers for my family during this difficult time as it is a lot to take in. Thank you so much to those who have already been reaching out, checking in, and who have been there for us. We appreciate and love you all.
