Hi. My name is Brandy. I am the daughter of Millicent who is from Jamaica—Bluefields, Westmoreland (Brighton District). My mom has been a nurse for over 40 years, caring for others with unwavering kindness and strength. She just celebrated her 65th birthday and even now, she continues to pour her heart into helping others — often giving the very shirt off her back to someone in need. I’ve seen it with my own eyes. Now, it’s our turn to pour back into her.
Hurricane Melissa left devastating damage across Jamaica, and my mom’s home in Bluefields, Westmoreland was completely destroyed—including Bluefields Anglican Church where my grandmother was buried. What was once a place filled with love, laughter, and memories is now gone.
We are heartbroken — but we are not without hope. We want to come together to help rebuild not only my mom’s home, but also support others in her community of Brighton District who have lost so much. We will be sending barrels and making trips to Jamaica to help first hand and will post photos every step of the way to share with you:
Every donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward rebuilding efforts — repairing homes, replacing essentials, and helping families get back on their feet.
The people of Bluefields are strong, proud, and resilient — but they need our help right now. Thank you for standing with us and for sharing in this effort to bring hope back to our community.
With love and gratitude,
Family
