We are raising funds for my parents, Mike and Cindy Davis. My dad was diagnosed with liver cancer at the end of 2024 and is in the middle of a fight against it. Thankfully, Medicare is paying for most of his bills at MD Anderson, and he is ramping up his treatment there. Last week, his oncologist at MD Anderson took him off of immunotherapy, which he was doing at the VA near his home in Temple. Instead, they are starting radiation, which now needs to be done at MD Anderson in Houston, which is almost 3 hours from their house. The financial need is to cover the cost of housing in Houston. Thus far, it has cost $3,500 for housing, which has us covered through February 22nd, but we fully expect to need to have housing at least through March 8th, which will be another approximately $4,000, so $7,500 total to get us through March 8th. I have set the goal slightly above that because we fully expect several more visits, but I will keep this page updated with the exact numbers for full transparency. I have applied for some housing ministries in the area and am waiting to hear back; if those come through, we will stop the fundraiser.
