Support Mike and Kristin's Recovery Journey

My name is Sherri Taylor, from Albany, GA, and I am asking for help for my son, Mike, and his girlfriend, Kristin.

Kristin lost her job the same day they lost power during Hurricane Helene in Little Switzerland, NC, on Sept 28. They spent the next 3 weeks surviving without power and helping as many as they could, that needed help, up on the Blue Ridge Mountain.

On October 22, Mike and Kristin were involved in a 4-wheeler accident on a washed-out part of the mountain road.

Mike sustained heavy bruising during the accident, and Kristin's face got mauled by a pressure washer that was tied to the back of the 4-wheeler.

Kristin had to be airlifted to the trauma unit of the Asheville hospital. She didn't have insurance, so they discharged her after a day and a half, without even cleaning her face and eye properly. My son, immediately upon Kristin's discharge, took her to the Spruce Pine hospital, where they treated her like she was a human, properly cleaned her face and eye, and gave her meds for the pain she was about to endure outside of medical supervision. Gratefully, the power was restored at their house the day of the accident.

Kristin's eye and face require changing her bandages and cleaning her wounds every three hours, making it impossible for Mike to work until the danger of infection subsides. Please help Mike and Kristin through this rough time of lost wages and healing of Kristin's face and eye.
