At Midway Beach, we love our lifeguards. Recently, I was informed that the lifeguard rain jackets were in terrible condition (picture attached) and asked to purchase new jackets for our staff. It wasn’t acceptable to me that there is no budget for these items, and other necessities that the lifeguards need and deserve to do their jobs protecting our families. I decided to create this page after an outpouring of generous offers from our amazing homeowners, offering to contribute to this well deserved cause. All initial contributions will go toward the rain jackets, while any additional will go toward any lifeguard specific items that the budget won’t cover. I’ll provide a monthly update with statements from this page for transparency, and to show our generous donors how their contributions are specifically helping our lifeguards. I placed the order so the items can ship, your contributions will go toward covering that cost initially. Post shipment, residual will next go toward rubberizing the legs of our metal lifeguard stands to increase their safety in electrical storms. Any other suggestions are welcome!

As you all know, I have been on our condo board for a number of years and my primary responsibility is beach safety and supporting lifeguards. Certain items cannot be purchased by the HOA because of budgeting, so these funds will help in the form of donating the items. These funds are being raised for our lifeguard crew as a whole, and the proceeds will be used to buy critical items for them to do their jobs properly and safely. Keeping our beach patrons safe. Funds will be used for items such as rescue equipment that will improve safety for staff and visitors. As stated earlier, I will manage the funds and in collaboration with our lifeguard staff will then purchase the items deemed necessary. I’ll provide transparent receipts of the transactions here as I have done with the rain jackets. Thank you for loving our community!
