Support the Family of Robert Randall "Randy" Clark
Donation protected
We are deeply saddened to share the passing of Robert Randall "Randy" Clark, beloved husband, brother, brother-in-law, stepson, and friend. My name is Michele McVee, and I have created this GoFundMe page following the devastating loss of my husband Randy.
Randy was a gifted musician. He was a kind, sweet, thoughtful, and brilliant man who made friends wherever he went.
During the past year, Randy faced the most difficult challenge of his life: He was diagnosed with T-cell prolymphocytic leukemia, a rare and aggressive form of leukemia. Sadly, only 8 months after he was diagnosed, Randy lost his battle against that aggressive disease.
Randy had many friends in the music communities in northern Virginia, in his hometown of Binghamton, New York, and in his adopted hometown of Buffalo, New York. When he attended music jams, Randy was often introduced as Dr. Clark because he had earned a Ph.D in Music Composition from the University of Buffalo. Randy considered other musicians to be part of his extended family, and he was always proud when anyone in his family did well.
Randy was the most humble man I've ever met. He was truly my best friend. He passed away just 3 weeks after our 18th wedding anniversary.
Randy knew early in our relationship that at some point my mother and my youngest sister would be moving in with us. The four of us moved into our current home in 2012. My youngest sister and Randy were buddies. My sister faces unique challenges in her life, both physical and developmental, and Randy made her feel cherished and loved. .
Sadly, my mother passed away suddenly in 2014. Randy was by my side and supported me and my sister through that terrible time.
My sister and I are going through another terrible time. We are still in shock from the gravity of this sudden loss. Our family life has been forever changed. The pain and emptiness I feel is indescribable. Randy's passing left a significant void in our lives. Nothing can take away the pain and sorrow of losing him.
Now, I am my sister's the sole support. Now, she and I struggle through each day bearing the pain of losing him.
This is an incredibly difficult situation, both emotionally and financially. Our income has dropped by at least one-third, and we are struggling. I don't want to frighten my sister with financial problems. She is like a child, and one doesn't burden a child with such things.
I worry every day that I will let my sister down, that I will not be able to provide her with what she needs in addition to what she wants.
I never thought that we would be in such a predicament, but life has a way of knocking us off our feet, sometimes just to see how well we pick ourselves up.
I am so grateful for any help that anyone can offer. My sister and I are blessed because we have one another, and we are also blessed to have our wonderful friends and family in our lives.
It is unfortunate that we have to deal with the financial burden associated with Randy's passing. It would be lovely if we could just focus on grieving and not have to worry about bills, but that is not the case.
When a loved one is profoundly ill, the last thing we think of is what would happen if their income were no longer available. We think of clinical trials, experimental medications, and all of the things we can do to ensure that our loved ones are cared for with the utmost respect and dignity.
We are struggling to handle all of the day-to-day standard financial responsibilities in addition to the financial obligations brought on by his passing.
For this reason, I have created this GoFundMe page in order to help us as we strive to move forward from this devastating loss.
The outpouring of love, sympathy, and support from friends and family has been incredibly touching and inspirational.
Thank you for your kindness, compassion, and support.
Please feel free to share this page.
