Hi, my name is Michelle and I am asking for help for my nephew, Michael, whose life changed on Sept 2024. Michael was intubated and hanging on for dear life. Every second was a crucial moment in his recovery. Unfortunately, his mother was not close by, and as I went to the hospital to see him, I realized she needed to get here quick. As his aunt, I could only do so much, so the family dropped everything and flew back to the USA to attend to his needs. They left everything behind—jobs, home, etc.—to be with Michael. Not knowing Michael's outcome, we were all in for a long recovery with him. Michael was moved from one hospital to another. He has spent 5 months in the hospital with multiple surgeries, including amputation of his lower and upper extremities. Michael is a 26-year-old veteran who served in the US Air Force and was discharged due to an illness they couldn't cure. Due to his condition of Lupus and some other health-related issues, Michael has had to get dialysis 3 times a week. Now, with his amputations, my sister Gloria and his father Martin have  dedicated their lives to taking care of him. As they moved here and left everything behind, you can imagine how hard it's been, spending all their  days and nights in the hospital with him until his discharge a couple of weeks ago. I am asking for any help you can give to get him a new place to accommodate his new life. They are a strong family, but I would like for them to be able to move into a new home that can accommodate him with no stairs to make it easier on them when he needs to go to his appointments.
