My name is Michaela (Tiffany Anne Michaela Gabriel Rose Sarra). I am the sole caregiver for my 80-year-old mother, who has severe dementia along with other health issues. Caring for her is a full-time responsibility, and because of this, I am unable to work a stable job. We live very modestly, and her limited income is just above the threshold for assistance, yet not nearly enough to cover basic needs or hire help. All the experts we have talked to over the last five years have verified our complete lack of any other options.

We have no emergency fund, no death plan, and no burial plan, in addition to an overwhelming amount of immediate needs. This weighs heavily on me. If something happened to me, my mother could not function on her own. If something happened to her, I would be left grieving, without support, and unable to cover rent, food, or even a burial. We are also still hoping to honor her brother, whose ashes have remained unburied since 2006.
