- Hi, most of you know me as Michael Seelye. I am 60 years old. About four months ago, I was diagnosed with stage 4 esophageal cancer. It is a very serious cancer that is located in your esophagus. The cancer also spread to my lymph nodes and kidney. They put me on chemotherapy immediately, and now I am scheduled for surgery on February 17. The doctors say this is a very high-risk surgery because they have to remove 2/3 of my esophagus and use my stomach as part of my esophagus. I will be in the hospital for seven days at least, and then the recovery time is 3 to 4 months during which I will not be able to work.
- Because of this cancer, I have had a hard time working and getting enough money to live on. We are struggling to pay our rent and our everyday bills like car payment, car insurance, and also food. Unfortunately, moving to South Carolina about a year and a half ago, I have exhausted all my savings and have nothing to live on. My wife and I have a lot of medical issues, which is making it very hard to earn any extra money.
- I am asking if anyone would be willing to help me get these bills paid so I can have a home to recover in. Thank you so much for listening to my story, and God bless you all.
