In many underserved communities, menstruation remains a sensitive and stigmatized topic. This silence, coupled with limited access to sanitary products, continues to affect the health, dignity, and education of young girls. Mary Momanyi, the passionate Director and CEO of SMILE OF A CHILD, is spearheading a transformative campaign to change this narrative.

The "Empower HER" initiative aims to provide 1,000 school-going girls, aged 11 to 19, with a year-long supply of sanitary towels and essential menstrual health education. Through this campaign, we seek to empower girls to manage their menstrual cycles with dignity—allowing them to stay in school, participate in activities, and thrive academically and socially.

The program will also feature mentorship and interactive workshops focused on:

Menstrual hygiene management

Reproductive health education

Breaking the stigma around menstruation

This initiative is more than just product provision—it is a movement to restore confidence, dignity, and opportunity for young girls who need it most.
