Melvin and Latrice Morrison have always been a source of strength and kindness to those around them. Our friendship began at Wildercroft Church of Christ in Maryland. Our bond grew stronger when we were given custody of our oldest daughter, Victoria, at just four months old. That same evening at church, Latrice asked if she could hold her—and from that moment, a beautiful friendship began. Over the years, Melvin and Latrice became Godparents to our daughters, and even as our families moved away from Maryland, our bond has only grown stronger. Their faith and resilience have helped them weather many storms, but now they are facing a particularly challenging season.

Recently, Melvin suffered a brain bleed and has undergone two angiograms. Thankfully, the results ruled out an aneurysm, but he will need ongoing monitoring, including a specialized brain scan in the coming months. Latrice is home now recovering after being diagnosed with lung cancer. Her recovery will require at least three weeks, and during this time, she will be unable to work. Melvin may also need to take time off to care for her, leaving both without income for an extended period.
