After 23 years of working at Kaiser Permanente caring for patients, September 8th will be my last day, not by choice, but because my legal right to work is being taken away.
For 26 years, I’ve lived and worked under Temporary Protected Status (TPS), a program that let me build a life here, raise my daughter, and care for my elderly mother. Now TPS is being dismantled, leaving nearly one million people including me without the ability to work, keep health insurance, or provide for our families.
My last paycheck is next week, and I don’t know how I will cover my mortgage, my mother’s medications and care, daily living expenses, and the high costs of immigration fees and legal filings.
I am asking for your support to help my family stay afloat during this uncertain time. Donations will go directly toward these urgent needs.
If you can’t donate, you can still help by sharing this fundraiser and urging elected officials to protect TPS.
Thank you for standing by me and my family during this difficult time.
With gratitude,
Merlyn
