Support Melissa's Fight for Abigail's Custody

Hi, my name is Melissa, and I’m the proud mother of a beautiful 10-year-old girl named Abigail. She is my world—bright, kind, and full of love. Abigail has been with me every step of the way since she was born. I’ve raised her, supported her, and created a stable, loving home where she feels safe and secure.

Since last year, I have been in the midst of a child support battle and now, I’m in the middle of a painful and unexpected custody battle. Her father, who has been partially present in her life, is now filing for joint custody. I have been compliant with him and offered more parenting time but he refuses it and chooses to go through the courts. 

He left when Abigail was 3 years old. With the exception of seeing him 2 weekends each month, she has never lived with him and doesn’t know what living with him would be like. 

This legal fight is not about what’s best for her—it’s about more than that, and I’m terrified that the court might not see it that way.

I want nothing more than to continue providing the life that Abigail knows and deserves. But the legal system is expensive—attorney fees, court filings, and related expenses are more than I can afford alone.
