Support Meliana's New Beginning
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Brittney, and I had the privilege of working at the Morrison Family YMCA where I met a very special person—Meliana.
In 2023, Meliana began working as a full-time Infant Teacher at the Y. She moved to the United States from Venezuela with her two children, ages 8 and 1, while her husband remained in Venezuela. Meliana did everything she could to reunite her family, but as a new immigrant, she's faced countless challenges along the way.
Recently, Meliana learned that she will no longer be able to stay and work legally in the US as her work permit expires this month. Faced with this reality, she has made the difficult decision to relocate her family to Spain in hopes of starting anew.
Meliana's husband was able to safely make it to Spain just this week. Now, Meliana is working to secure a passport for her son and start the process of bringing her children to join him.
If you’ve met Meliana, you know what a beautiful soul she is. She has a heart of gold, always smiling, and she cares for every child as if they were her own. I’ve seen firsthand the love she pours into her work, and I’ve watched my own daughter learn and grow under her care at the Y. Meliana’s strength, kindness, and unwavering positivity are inspiring.
I want to help make this transition a little easier for Meliana and her family. I’ve started this GoFundMe page to raise money for the plane tickets they need to get to Spain, as well as to help them get settled and start their new life there. Whether it’s for initial living expenses, securing housing, or simply starting fresh, your donations will make a world of difference in helping them build a new chapter in Spain.
It’s a big move, and there’s still much more ahead of her, but I’m so grateful that Meliana will finally be reunited with her husband after years of separation.
If you are able to contribute, even a small donation will help Meliana and her children take the next steps toward their new beginning. Let’s show her the same love and support she’s given so many of us. Thank you for your generosity.
