On May 19, 2023, my mom was in a head-on collision with a drunk driver. She was on her way home from work when the drunk driver entered oncoming traffic, narrowly missing her pregnant co-worker who was driving in front of her because she swerved out of the way. Unfortunately my mom did not have enough time to act.

While she had insurance to help offset the cost of her medical bills and short-term disability for the next 6 months, her road to recovery is estimated to last at least a year. The short-term disability only covers 60% of previous wages and medical bills are quickly eating away at the insurance coverage.
