Access to basic medical care is something many of us take for granted. For families in Riobamba, Ecuador, limited access to medications, medical supplies, and health education can mean preventable illnesses go untreated.

In partnership with MedLife Movement, a group of Arcadia University's Physician Assistant Students and Faculty will travel to Riobamba, Ecuador in May 2026 to provide essential medical care and health education to underserved communities. This service experience is centered on delivering compassionate, high-quality care while gaining hands-on experience navigating healthcare in a global setting.

While the city of Riobamba is renowned for its natural beauty, it remains one of the poorest provinces in Ecuador and lacks many basic services. The city is surrounded by many Indigenous villages where realities of everyday life can include malnutrition, lack of healthcare, and lack of sanitation infrastructure. Through this trip, our goal is to support patients by providing critical medications, medical supplies, and educational resources.

We will be accepting monetary donations to purchase school supplies and medical equipment that will remain with the community after the trip has concluded to promote lasting impact. If you are unable to donate physical items, a financial contribution is a meaningful way to support this mission. Every donation, no matter the size, directly supports patient care, health education, and community wellbeing.

All funds raised through this GoFundMe will be used exclusively for medications and medical supplies for the community. No donated funds will be applied toward student travel, housing, or personal expenses. Transparency and ethical stewardship of donations are a priority.
