Support Meal Deliveries for Flood-Affected
Donation protected
Hey, Thank You for being here. Wow. A little about us. I’ve been working at Grape Juice a full service restaurant since 2017. I started as a busser and in April of this year we purchased the business. Every aspect of my life in some way is tied to Grape Juice. My community my friends my joy my stress. All happens between these four walls at
623 Water Street. So when the flood happened there was no second thought, we were gonna serve our community.
What started as sandwiches grew and is growing into a multifaceted relief effort for the same community that has supported us all these years.
We have shut down the restaurant and created a relief hub. Not only are staff and I cooking 100’s and some days 1,000s of meals, We are accepting wide and also focused donations. Then using the local connections we’ve made as a business our community trusts, we are distributing those physical donations directly to those that need.
No red tape no applications, just locals helping locals survive this chaotic time.
Another important mission is
LONG TERM SUSTAINABILITY.
We understand the nature of the media we are guilty participants, we aren’t resentful of it, it’s just how it is.
Once this news cycle ends eyes and ears will go somewhere else and it’ll be local leaders, business and people who will be responding to the relief efforts. Which means we need all the support NOW while we can get it. So with donations we are establishing grass roots networks with businesses and individuals to store supplies and continue cooking meals weeks months and years down the road.
The other reality is we are still a business, which means during the current effort, where staff has be working around the clock, the restaurant is not open to public for traditional service. But bills don’t stop for our staff and business. Your donation will ensure that however long this takes we can at some point transition back into the same old Grape Juice we know and love.
We won’t stop, and ensuring the grass roots effort will continue to grow and feed ppl. Commissary kitchens, storage units etc Your donation will go to us personally preparing and delivering as many meals as we can to those affected by the flood.
We are now also purchasing items beyond food for those in need.
Heavy duty chainsaws, demolition gear, cleaning supplies packaged clothing with tags (boots, underwear, socks, etc) Perishable and non perishable food, water, drinks of any kind. As well as more focused projects like mobile hydraulic hose repair for heavy machinery and helping establish efficient effective communication systems.
WE ARE HERE FOR KERRVILLE.
