My daughter McKayla and her husband Jacob welcomed their beautiful identical twin girls, Lilith and Lucyna, prematurely on April 10, 2025. These precious babies have faced incredible challenges since their arrival, and their family needs your support to navigate this difficult time.

At 34 1/2 weeks, McKayla’s pregnancy took a frightening turn when she developed severe preeclampsia, requiring her to be airlifted from Cheyenne to Fort Collins for urgent medical care. After Lilith and Lucyna were born, they were put on oxygen and spent the next two months in the NICU, first an hour away in Fort Collins. Later, the girls were transferred to a hospital in Denver—two hours from home—for heart surgery (PDA closure). The frequent trips to Fort Collins and Denver for visits and medical updates with the only one car they have added to the family’s emotional and financial strain.

Jacob missed significant time from work to be there for the twins during their surgery and recovery, while McKayla, determined to keep the family afloat, returned to work early and picked up extra shifts. Despite their efforts, the family has fallen a bit behind on bills, and the mounting costs of medical expenses, utilities, rent, and essential supplies for the twins have made it hard to catch up.

Lilith and Lucyna, now home after their two-month NICU stay, require specialized care, including a special formula, weekly doctor’s appointments, and ongoing therapy. Both girls have developmental challenges and came home on oxygen, requiring extra medical equipment and attention. These needs make it even harder for the family to balance their finances while ensuring the girls get the care they deserve.
