Every person deserves a place where they're known, encouraged, and supported.
For more than 25 years, MBIC has been more than a program.
It’s been a place where individuals have rebuilt confidence, formed lasting friendships, discovered purpose, and taken meaningful steps toward greater independence. Every day, members have walked through our doors knowing they would be welcomed, encouraged, and surrounded by a community that believed in them.
For many of our members, MBIC became a second home.
However, Today, that home is at risk.
Like many community-based organizations, MBIC provides services first and is reimbursed afterward through public funding systems. While this model allows organizations like ours to serve some of our community's most vulnerable individuals, it also means that unexpected reimbursement delays can create significant cash flow challenges, even when services have already been authorized, delivered, and properly billed.
Those delays have placed extraordinary pressure on our organization.
As a result, we've had to temporarily pause portions of our daily programming while we work to stabilize operations and secure the resources needed to move forward.
For our members, this isn't simply the loss of a daily activity.
It's the temporary loss of a place where they found friendship, routine, encouragement, purpose, and hope.
Every day we hear from members and families asking the same question:
"When can we come back?"
Our answer:
We're doing everything we can to make that happen.
Every day, we're pursuing grants, meeting with community partners, strengthening collaborations, seeking new funding opportunities, and working to build a more sustainable future for MBIC. We're not simply trying to reopen—we're working to build an even stronger organization that can continue serving our community for years to come.
But we can't do it alone.
Your support today helps bridge a critical gap while we continue that work.
Your gift helps us preserve a community that has changed lives for decades.
It helps ensure that individuals working toward greater independence continue to have a place where they belong.
It helps us bring MBIC home.
Whether you're able to give $10, $1000, or simply share this campaign with others, every act of generosity moves us one step closer to reopening our doors and restoring the community that so many people depend on.
Thank you for believing in our members.
Thank you for believing in our mission.
And thank you for helping us write the next chapter of MBIC's story.
