Support Maxwell Amundson's Rain Garden Project
Donation protected
My name is Maxwell Amundson, and I am a Life Scout in Troop 3479 in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. I have been in scouting for over nine years, starting in the Cub Scout Pack 479. To reach the highest rank in Boy Scouts, the Eagle Scout, I need to complete a project to help my community. This fundraiser's goal is to finance my Eagle Scout project, aiming to place educational signs near Round Lake.
For my Eagle Scout Project, I created a rain garden at one of Eden Prairie's main parks, Round Lake Park. Rain gardens are a cost-effective and long-term solution for reducing runoff and improving water quality. They work by using a manmade pond and native plants to filter the water and transfer that filtered water into the ground. The filtered water then helps the environment by making the area more drought-resistant and providing more clean water to the nearby lake. Additionally, the cleaner water going to the lake will prevent bacterial growth and make the lake safe for swimming.
Part of creating that rain garden is making informational signs about the rain garden. By making these signs, I hope to encourage community members to make their own rain gardens and instill a deeper understanding of how they can help the environment.
I have received approval for this project from the City of Eden Prairie, Minnesota, and the BSA Northern Star Council. As I have already acquired funding for the rain garden, I need to raise money for the educational signs set to be installed next to the rain garden. I am asking you to help me in any way that you can. If you would like to donate money for this project, any amount would be appreciated. I would also greatly appreciate if you could share about this fundraiser with other people. Thank you for your time and consideration.
