Back in February, I filled out an online application to be a nurse volunteer for PINCC - an NGO dedicated to preventing cervical cancer globally.
Cervical cancer, although preventable and treatable when diagnosed early, claims the lives of 342,000 women annually. Young women, mothers, sisters, aunties…. BUT! Together, we can alter this trajectory and make a lasting impact for generations to come.
I am honored and excited to say I was chosen to be part of a team of 11 nurses and physicians going to India this September. This is a dream come true for me. Helping women as a nurse is one way I can “pay it forward “ - all the help I have received from my “ sisters”, and we are ALL sisters!
PINCC's mission is to prevent cervical cancer in low-and-middle income countries (LMICs) by utilizing low-cost, yet highly effective technology methods to create sustainable programs through patient education, medical personnel training, and facility outfitting.
Bottom line:
This disease is preventable.
I have been chosen to go with PINCC to the India site for two weeks in September as a nurse volunteer. As a volunteer, I must pay my own airfare and room/ board.
I am asking you if you could help me reach my goal of $2500, which covers airfare and room/board.
Any amount will help, and I will be in contact with you while I am there via messages and photos, so you can share in this endeavor!
Thank you for your time !
