Support Maureen and Her Daughters After Tragic Loss

My name is Maryann Carstensen, trying to raise funds for my sister Maureen Hourican and her twin 12 year old daughters. Sadly and suddenly, she lost her husband and they lost their father to a heart attack. Her husband, Gene, only 56 years old, was a disabled veteran, having served his country proudly in the US Navy during Operation: Desert Storm. Upon his death, they will lose most of his veteran benefits and have to manage this new phase in life. My sister is now, devastatingly, a single parent and widow. They have a modest home, and now have to carry the mortgage and all other bills that come with being a homeowner. Before moving on with daily life, Maureen must meet the exorbitant funeral expenses required to bury her husband. While no amount of money can cover the cost of the heartache this loss brings, the fear of financial instability is looming overhead and we are trying to alleviate as much of this as possible.
