Support Matt's Mission to Guatemala

Hi, I’m Matt Petasek, a Doctor of Physical Therapy student at Bellin College. I’m raising funds to participate in a weeklong mission trip to Guatemala in April 2026, where I’ll help deliver much-needed rehabilitation services alongside a team of students, faculty, and volunteers.

This trip is so much more than a clinical experience, it’s a chance to live out the reason I went into healthcare in the first place: to make a genuine difference in people’s lives.

We’ll be working with Mission El Faro, a faith-based organization that provides food, education, medical care, and hope to rural communities along Guatemala’s eastern coast. Our team will bring physical therapy services to those recovering from injury, illness, or surgery; many of whom would not otherwise have access to this kind of care.

We’ll also be bringing over 1,700 lbs of medical supplies, equipment, and donated materials with us—everything from glucose monitors to physical therapy tools—to ensure the community gets the support they need.

Your donation will help cover:

• Travel and lodging expenses

• Medical and therapy supplies

• Transportation across borders and rural regions

• Interpreters and support staff

I’ve never been on a mission trip before, but I’m approaching this experience with an open heart, a willingness to serve, and a deep respect for the people we’ll meet. While conditions can be challenging, I believe that compassionate care should extend beyond our borders, and this trip gives me a unique opportunity to live out that belief.

I’ll be traveling with 11 other physical therapy students from Bellin College. If your generosity helps us exceed my individual fundraising goal, all additional funds will be distributed equally to support the rest of the team and help make this opportunity accessible for everyone.
