Hi everyone! For those who don't know me, I’m Mattie, I am an infant teacher at the Goddard School of Lexington and a dancer at the Studio Of Creative Movement in Waltham. I have been in childcare for many years and have a passion for education and spreading joy to others. I am hoping to bring my passion and love for teaching to Tanzania.

In Tanzania, Almost 5 out of 10 children live in extreme poverty with less than $1.90 a day to live on. There is a lack of qualified teachers, and teaching and learning conditions are poor in crowded and sparsely equipped schools.

I've been accepted into a program to volunteer in childcare in Arusha, Tanzania for one week, starting April 15th, 2025. I am reaching out to the community for financial assistance to pay for flights, and supplies to bring with me for the children. During my volunteer time there, I would be caring for children and providing games, toys, and engaging activities. I would greatly appreciate any donations to help make this possible! Any money leftover will go directly to the childcare program in Arusha and the volunteer program, to continue funding these amazing opportunities for aspiring volunteers. Thank you for your support!
