Hi everyone,

Many of you know that I’ve always loved helping others through fundraisers during difficult times — but I never imagined that one day I’d be doing this for my own family.

I am starting this fundraiser for my nephew Matthew, who is currently battling serious health complications. My sister Nancy, his amazing and selfless mom, has devoted her life to caring for her six boys. She has faced her own battles with breast cancer, yet continues to put her children first.

Nancy would never ask for help herself — which is why I’m doing it for her. She has been commuting nonstop from Laredo to San Antonio for Matthew’s treatments and emergency visits. What started as appointments has turned into long nights and days — even weeks — in the hospital. This has been an enormous financial strain, physically and mentally exhausting, and has also taken precious time away from her other five children who still need their mom.

If you know Nancy, you know the kind of heart she has. You also know the challenges she’s faced in life, especially since the passing of our loving mother. Through it all, she’s remained strong for her family.

Now, Matthew — who has been so brave in his fight with leukemia — is facing new, urgent medical complications. Nancy is doing everything in her power to keep up, but the emotional and financial burden is more than anyone should have to carry alone.

With a heart full of gratitude, I’m asking friends and family to come together to support Nancy and Matthew during this incredibly difficult time.
