Hi everyone,

My name is Tegan Taylor, and I’m fundraising for my Dad, Matthew Taylor, the most loving, hardworking, and selfless person I know. My Dad has always been my rock. As a single father, he raised me on his own, doing everything he could to make sure I had a good life filled with love, laughter, and stability. Now, it’s my turn to be there for him.

Recently, our lives were turned upside down when my dad was diagnosed with Oropharyngeal cancer, which is also known as throat cancer. Hearing those words was devastating, but anyone who knows my Dad knows that he’s a fighter, who is strong, stubborn in the best way, and always determined to keep going no matter what life throws his way.

My Dad has already begun the long road of this process, which started around march with frequent trips to the hospital, which led to more frequent scanning and testing with Ultrasounds, CT Scans, MRI's, and finally a PET Scan after a positive diagnosis of Oropharyngeal cancer. Which then led to an immediate surgery. After the surgery, the doctors were still unable to source the main stem of the cancer as they removed what they thought was the source originally. Which means we still don't know what the future entails with further surgeries or diagnosis. The treatment that is upcoming is Chemotherapy and Radiation therapy which will start 6 weeks after the surgery (4 weeks from now). In which the estimated recovery time should be around 6 months.

While he’s focused on fighting for his health, the medical bills and living expenses are starting to pile up. We tried to apply for disability or for any financial aid, but got denied due to being a sole proprietor and self-employed. As a single dad, he doesn’t have a lot of financial cushion, as we are selling the things we can, and him being severely limited in his ability to work during this process, has made things even harder.

We're asking for any help, not just to cover the costs of his cancer treatment, but to give my dad some peace of mind so he can focus on getting better. All donations will go directly toward Medical bills, treatment costs, medication, follow-up care, and everyday expenses while he’s unable to work.

If you know my dad, you know he’s the kind of person who would give you the shirt off his back. He’s always been the one helping and doing things for others, now it’s time for us to help him.
