Hi!

My name is Matthew Kane, and I am a Life Scout in Troop 131 working toward earning the rank of Eagle Scout. For my Eagle Project, I will be building a viewing platform at the Los Alamitos Joint Forces Training Base to give visitors a safe, elevated way to see inside a restored tank on display.

Currently, there is no structure that allows the public to view the tank’s deck. My project will involve constructing a wooden platform with handrails, safety features like wire mesh and traction tape, and educational signage explaining the tank’s history and significance.

Funds raised will go toward materials such as lumber, concrete, paint, and safety equipment, as well as transportation and food for volunteers. Any leftover funds will be donated to the base or used to maintain the display.

I’m very excited to bring this project to life and grateful for any support that helps me complete it.
