Support Matt Thurman's Road to Recovery
Donation protected
Hello all who read this,
Matt & Halie Thurman, along with their son Carter, are amazing, caring people, family, & friends, always ready to lend a helping hand when needed, no questions asked. Considering that, we are now asking the public, family & friends to help in any way they can for them. Whether it's a $1.00 donation or some prayers sent above, anything & everything is greatly appreciated & welcomed.
Matt had a terrible motorcycle accident on a curvy wet road Saturday evening. While this was a terrible accident, we are all so grateful that Matt does not have life-threatening injuries nor does he have any to his major organs like his brain, heart etc. But what he does have is a long road of recovery for him and 2-5 surgeries coming within the following weeks. When Matt wrecked, he slid with the motorcycle and hit his leg so hard against the bike and concrete that his femur bone above his knee (which is the largest, most thickened bone we have in our whole body) snapped and poked through his skin which is referred to a compound fracture. Along with that, he also fractured his tibial bone, his foot and found this morning that he's also fractured his spine. As of right now, he has metal pins and screws in his leg for up to 72 hours to make sure he doesn't get an infection after all debris was cleaned. If that goes well, then the next step is to insert metal rods in his leg. Hopeful for a speedy recovery
While this is heartbreaking, the world still goes on. That being said, they have a home mortgage, bills, a child and their living necessities. Matt is the main provider for this family and now that he's not able to work, they will need as much help and support anyone could give or offer.
