Support Mathew's Fight for Ryan's Custody

My name is Joie Novak. I’m reaching out by starting this fundraiser to help my brother Mathew and his son, my 13-year-old nephew Ryan.

Ryan was taken from his mother by DFS while in her care. They have been very uncooperative with my brother's efforts to get Ryan placed into his custody. My brother is employed, has a stable place to live, goes to counseling, and is clean from drugs and alcohol. Those who know him and our family know what a solid, caring, and loving father and friend my brother is.

Other family members have made attempts to have Ryan placed with them, and still, DFS has turned each of them down. Instead, they made a poor decision to place him into foster care, which subjected him to potential abuse. While he has been removed and placed into the care of a different foster family, DFS is still failing to work with my brother for family reunification. He has spoken to an attorney and was quoted the amount of $5,000 to be represented. He can in no way afford this as he is living paycheck to paycheck. Please, if anyone can help, no donation is too small, and if you aren’t in the position to donate and know of any other way or would be so kind to share this among our mutual friends, my family will be so grateful. Our goal is to get my sweet nephew home with his dad, where he wants to be and where he belongs! Thank you all and God bless!
