Support Mary T. Binsfeld After Devastating Scam

Hello! I'm Cathy Shuman and my siblings and I started this gofundme page for our sister, Mary Therese Binsfeld. Mary is much-loved by her family, friends, and co-workers for her generosity and willingness to help others in her life. She is a happy and friendly person who treats everyone with graciousness and kindness.

Unfortunately, Mary fell victim to an email scan late in July. The perpetrators of the scam convinced her that they were a Paypal Team from the Paypal Corporation. They contacted and hassled her daily over a weeks' time through phone calls and a computer hack, ultimately depriving her of $36,000 of her hard-earned savings. The daily barrage of phone calls wore her down - Mary said she felt like a zombie following their directions. She is slowly working her way back to some normalcy after family members helped break the scam. A police report has been filed but it is very unlikely any of those funds can be recovered as the scammers are believed to be from a third world country and not traceable. This scam has put a huge dent in her daily-living funds and future retirement savings. We are looking to help Mary "BUILD BACK HER FINANCIAL STABILITY AND FREEDOM." Mary works as a lead caterer at St John's University in Collegeville MN and is very dedicated to her job and the people she works with. She is dependable, trustworthy, and much respected for a job well done.

She is active in her church, St Robert Bellarmine in St Cloud, MN, and has donated funds for the new parish school and Sunday collections to support the church. She has many friends among the church parishioners as she is always willing to take time out to visit, give rides to and from church, donate to the annual Novitiate Food Drive, and so much more.

Mary is always willing to lend a helping hand to other, even those that she does not know. For example, a mom from church attended a grad party with her young children (sans her husband) and was struggling with trying to get them all fed. Mary was also at the grad party visiting with friends from church. She did not know the mom and her kids but left her friends and walked over and helped get plates for the kids and made sure they all had something to eat. Such giving of self is very commonplace for Mary, and she does kind things like this all the time.

Mary is the 7th sibling in a family of 11 children. She has helped out family members many times and is a godmother to a very special niece, who has benefitted from Mary's guidance and help over the years. She loves gathering with family and has the support of all of her siblings in this difficult time of her life.
