Greetings, my name is Yvonne. I met Marvin, a day laborer, at my local Home Depot over the summer of 2025, when the raids began across LA County. I was talking to people and passing out “know your rights” material.

A few days ago, he called me and told me that his landlord is threatening to call ICE on him and his family if they don't move out within 30 days. I am working with Marvin to negotiate more time with the landlord for them to find safe and affordable housing. Although illegal, the landlord's threat to report them to ICE is very real in this moment.

Additionally, Marvin and his family are going through a very though financial and emotional situation--apart from not having much work at the moment, the family is suffering due to their daughter being in a coma after a tragic accident, adding to their financial and emotional burden.

The family needs between $5,000-$7,000 to move and secure a new apartment. My goal is to support this cost by raising at least $1000 for immediate needs and moving costs.

Marvin has two underage children who are still in school and this threat puts them and the whole family at risk of homelessness. Anything helps. Thank you in advance for your care, kindness, and generosity. Bless.
