Support Marr St Landscaping to Deter Encampments

Hey Abbot Kinney and Marr neighbors,
As everyone is all too familiar, we have a repopulation/encampment issue along Marr St. between 2727 and 2715 Abbot Kinney... and while we've raised our voices and impacted the recent cleanups, preventing this from reoccurring is challenging. A few of us thought it would be worth our time to gather some funds for a landscaping effort to make that area uninhabitable.
As much as we'd love this to be on the owner of the land, their incentive is low and they are challenging to reach. Thus, we are hoping to crowdsource our own solution.
**We are setting our as it relates to multiple estimates. This includes doing some of the work ourselves but considers having to hire professionals for certain aspects. We are going to start the work NOW and continue to expand it as funds become available!
These funds will go to:
- Having gardeners turn over and prep the area for planting
- Sourcing agaves and other dense plants
- Gardeners for planting (neighbors are willing to help)
- Ongoing maintenance
- A side fund to help sponsor planters in front of Hoyt Plaza (where the Wacky Wok and Passita are) to deter encampments (that will be another initiative - taking a bit longer)
