My name is Pastor Marq Powell. My dad, James Powell, founded Powell's Ministry in his home of Prentiss, MS, 30 years ago. He built the current sanctuary in 1997. His ministry impacted so many in the community. Sadly, he passed in March 2024. He was 79 years old. I took on the mantle of carrying on the ministry and to continue his legacy.

We have had several services since his demise. But I noticed a situation with the roof. It was swaying. I had it examined and the result is that the building has become unsafe to have service because the rafters have started breaking and the entire roof needs to be replaced.

I can't begin to explain the hurt the members and I felt. We are a small congregation and the church doesn't have insurance. My dad did the best he could with what he had. He sacrificed so much to erect the building.

We are trusting God for a miracle to resolve this issue. We are also reaching out to our sisters and brothers, to help us with this effort of restoring this spiritual monument so services and ministry can resume there. At the moment, we are having virtual services.

More importantly, we need to do the repairs before the roof completely collapses, which would push out the walls and cause unrepairable destruction.
